Inspiring CPD programme for members
April 28, 2017
From September 2016 to March 2017, AIL members undertook an exciting training programme, aimed at expanding their skills within music and sound. This course, in partnership with the Northamptonshire Music Education Hub (www.nmpat.co.uk) took place over 4 sessions, and was led by 4 different Music Artists; Graham Elstone, Jason Singh, Laura Gutherie and Adriano Adewale. The programme included, using digital technology to engage with children in challenging circumstances, beatboxing techniques and using the voice as an instrument, approaches to working with children with learning difficulties utilising different art forms and percussion and ensemble techniques. Members attending the programme found it be inspirational and useful.
"Laura’s session really put us in reflective practitioner mode, rethinking our patterns of delivery. She made us consider authenticity of praise and to be mindful that all contributions are equally valuable"
"Graham's session has made me keen to try and use more digital tech, as has Jason's. I'm keen to explore the use of more technology and how this can be used collaboratively in my practice"
"Jason and Adriano’s sessions have inspired me to be more experimental with the voice in my practice, it has already impacted on my day to day teaching"
